Help a Mother & Child in Haiti
Many of you know I've been part of the ongoing Haiti relief effort since this summer, more specifically working with and forming the Haiti Amputee soccer team that we took to Argentina for the Amputee World Cup of Soccer.
Well, my close friend, Giscard, who is the Team Administrator, has an urgent plea. You see, his sister had major complication from her pregnancy and needed risky surgery. The good news is that both she and her baby are fine. The bad news is that the only hospital in Port au Prince that would take her in which is amongst the worst located in the filthy slums of the city, are not allowing the mother and child to go home until the more than $16,000 Gourdes hospital bill is paid. This debt is climbing everyday. What's worse is that they won't even give Giscard the baby to take back home to the father and family so they can nurture and love the child in a safe, clean environment.
Friends, as you can see, this is a very sad situation and there are tens of thousands of people experiencing atrocities like this. Furthermore, to make matters worse, Giscard can't help because he lost is job by sacrificing his time away from his family and work to help organize the team and take them to Argentina to represent their country in a most noble and honorable cause.
Please find it in your heart to make a small donation of $5, $10, $20 or more to help this mother and baby.
May God bless you and yours during this Christmas Season. May your New Year be filed with health, joy and prosperity.
